You may be aware that the Prime Minister announced the 2021 examinations would not go ahead as planned. As yet there is little information available regarding how grades will be awarded, this will become apparent over the forthcoming weeks. Senior leaders will maintain close contact with Government advice and guidance, of course, this will be shared with parents at every opportunity.
At Kidsgrove Secondary School and in schools across the country, there has been variability in the attendance of pupils due to the local response to COVID testing. We are mindful that pupils have been in very challenging circumstances since March 2020. However, I am extremely proud of the resilience shown by our pupils, parents and staff, therefore, it is so important that pupils build on this and work as hard as they possibly can, over the forthcoming weeks.
Our team of highly skilled and dedicated teachers are working extremely hard to ensure that all of our pupils have the best possible remote learning experience. We are committed to ensuring that all pupils are given every opportunity to achieve their potential and demonstrate learning has been secured, regardless of the mechanism used to award the grades.
It is extremely important that your son/daughter continues to engage fully in the remote learning. If this is not the case, then a member of the senior team will be contacting you to discuss any barriers to learning. If your son/daughter is experiencing any barriers to accessing the work set and/or delivered, then please do not hesitate to contact us to find a solution and a way forward.
Please be reassured that we are here to listen, advise and support.
My very warmest wishes
Mrs K Mitchell
