Year 6 Transition

Dear parent/carer,

We are getting closer to the end of this academic year and the start of a new year and a new school in September. I am in no doubt that you and your child will have a mixture of emotions about it. But please be reassured that the Y6 transition is still one of our main priorities and we are working tirelessly to ensure that the transition is as smooth and stress free as possible.

You should have received an information pack through the post. This will include a data sheet that needs to be returned to the school, a parent booklet including key information, a pupil booklet to help with the transition, FAQs and information on uniform and the bus service. If you have not received this pack, can you please get in touch with myself, and we can arrange for this to be sent out as soon as possible.

All of the information about transition including a virtual tour, virtual lessons and some advice from our own pupils can be found on our website and Facebook page.

Form groups are being sorted as we speak and information on your child's form teacher will be sent out very soon.
We are hoping to arrange some face to face time in school before September to allow you to come in and meet some of our staff and discuss any concerns or issues that you have. Details of this will be sent out shortly.
The first day of your child's new term at The Kidsgrove Secondary School will be a transition day. This day will focus on your child settling in and preparing them for the year ahead.

In the meantime, if you have any concerns or questions about your child starting high school, please email myself or telephone the school and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

We are really looking forward to meeting you all very soon and we're all very excited about starting a new school year here at The Kidsgrove Secondary School.

Take Care
