Computer Science – Remote Learning offer
The Computer Science department have adapted the scheme of work to respond to an identified need to improve the digital literacy skills of students accessing remote learning. The department has focused on certain areas to improve skills that will give students a ‘digital driving licence’ enabling them to work more effectively from home. The students will be asked to complete activities that improve their skills in the following areas each time they are scheduled for an IT lesson; email etiquette; correctly formatting word documents; creating effective PowerPoints, navigating Microsoft teams and use of the advanced features of search engines.
There will be an assessment based on what the students have learnt so far, at the start of February 2021. The students will be assessed of their word document formatting skills and email etiquette. The assessment will take 1 hour.
